There are thousands of children in Georgia in need of foster families; more than 250 of these children are in need of adoptive families. Most of these children have suffered abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. Throughout the state there is a need for foster parents for children of all ages, however, the greatest need is for older children, sibling groups and medically fragile children. The majority of children who are in need of adoptive families are age 8 and older, African American and/or a member of a sibling group who wish to be placed together.
To learn more, please plan to attend one of the upcoming events!

Georgia's Statewide Adoption Search and Reunion Registry
The DHR Office of Adoptions has a newly developed collaborative contract with Families First (an established and well-respected private agency) to operate the state's adoption search and reunification program.
The adoption reunion registry was created by law in 1990. The registry was formed to provide information to adult adoptees and help them search for birth parents and siblings.
